MJF Direction Captured 2026-05-15
Primary public-entry direction: - The public Slates entry should be black. - It should not expose the bundled CryptPad docs/contact/feature-marketing surfaces as visible public navigation. - It should be extremely minimal:
RELiK
SLATES
[ login bar / login form ]
The first visible public surface should feel like a private member document workspace, not a product landing page.
Invite/share-link direction: - The page or flow reached by an invite/shared link should receive the same RELiK / SLATES branding treatment. - If an invite link requires login, account switching, password entry, or an access prompt, that shell should be black/minimal and consistent with the login entry. - Keep helper text only where it materially helps the user proceed.
Vanilla cleanup direction: - Strip donate buttons/widgets wherever feasible. - Strip unnecessary default CryptPad branding, marketing, helper text, bundled docs/contact/feature surfaces, and other public-facing clutter where feasible. - Keep functional non-branding labels, tool names, controls, warnings, and widgets that users need to operate CryptPad. - Do not remove functionality just to make the UI sparse.
Theme direction: - Dark mode is preferred as the default. - Implementation should investigate the safest CryptPad-native way to default new/unauthenticated sessions to dark mode while preserving user override where possible. - If there is no clean global default knob, use the least invasive theme/CSS approach and document any limitation.
Operating priority: - Minimal, black, private, clear. - Functionality wins over visual reduction when there is a conflict.
