renameotabin (KUAL Extension)
From NiLuJe’s Helper extension pack:
- Install via MRPI as a KUAL extension
- Open KUAL → Helper → PREVENT OTA Updates
- Renames OTA update binaries so they can’t execute
- Persistent across reboots
Verify
Run Check OTA Status scriptlet to confirm binaries are renamed.
Warning on FW ≥ 5.12.x: Conventional rename may not be sufficient. Consider additional measures: - Keep storage filled as secondary defense - Monitor for new OTA mechanisms - Block Amazon update servers at network level if possible
