The core distinction is not canon versus not canon. The useful statuses are:

• Current runtime canon
• Foundational canon
• Archivable epoch canon
• Provisional-but-important working material
• Deprecated ancestry
• Sensitive / review-gated material

Archive means not currently top-line runtime unless promoted. It does not mean false.
