Splash overlap

The splash centers an ASCII font wordmark and then renders version/status text under it. On the RG terminal dimensions this is likely too tall or measured incorrectly. For the RG path, do not spend time polishing the large HERM banner unless the user asks. Prefer replacing the first viewport with the portrait animation and a small status/footer.
